About Chris Gibbs

Nature Photographer, Videographer, and Educator

   

Chris Gibbs developed a profound interest in technology, film, and photography from an early age. He has been actively involved in video operations and production for over thirty five years and has spent the last fifteen years working as a photographer. He is proud to hold the Master Photographer in Nature (MPN) Degree, with an accreditation in Nature - Wildlife, through Master Photographers International (MPI). This distinction reflects his technical precision and his lifelong commitment to capturing the natural world with excellence.​

In 2019, after spending more than twenty-five years in the television broadcast industry, Chris chose to leave the corporate world to fully pursue his creative passions. He established a media company in Calgary, Alberta, along with his wife, specializing in professional videography, photography, video editing, aerial drone visuals, and voice over content.

Chris established Footprints in Nature as his signature creative brand and a visual gateway to the natural world. His collection of scenic visuals, captivating wildlife videos, and photographic artwork reflect a deep love for the environment. The name represents his profound respect for the outdoors and the importance of preserving our natural heritage. His growing body of work serves as both a personal record of his experiences and a reminder of the preciousness of the natural world.

Community and Education

   

Chris is the co-host of The Nature Photo Guys, a popular YouTube channel and podcast dedicated to exploring all aspects of nature photography and video. From technical gear reviews to creative philosophies, the show aims to support and educate a global community of nature photographers. A key part of this mission involves conducting interviews with fellow nature photographers to share their unique stories and professional insights with the world.

Chris also shares his expertise as a guest speaker for camera clubs and industry events, where he provides introductions to capturing cinematic nature video. While he remains a dedicated storyteller, he also serves as a technical mentor and advisor. He provides personalized coaching for individuals of all skill levels, helping them master everything from camera settings and cinematic field techniques to complex digital workflows and web design strategies.
